MaRINA Manager is a certification scheme for professionals operating in the tourist marina sector: Port Director, Port Officer, Technical Manager and Port Service Manager.
The certification intends to maximise the professionalism of the operators involved in managing daily processes in tourist port areas, in order to:
- leverage the skills of professional figures dealing with the management of tourist ports
- objectively distinguish the organisation’s professionalism from unqualified competition
- improve the technical management of the port facility, making it more effective and in line with the market demand
- improve administrative management by optimising time and cost.
Service Details
The profiles classified here are:
- Port Director: a leading figure able to guarantee port management in the administrative, technical and operational areas;
- Port Officer (deputy director): a leadership figure able to guarantee the management of the port in the administrative and technical areas;
- Port Technical Manager (operator/nostromo): a figure who organises and coordinates the work of the port service staff.
- Port Service Manager: a figure who coordinates boats and yachts moored in the tourist marina and controls these during their journeys.
Certification Procedure
The stages of certification access are:
- verification of specific work experience, assessment of basic requirements, education and attitudes
- training courses, as necessary, with the duration and content varying according to the professional profile
- examination, with a written test (4 hours) to assess professional knowledge and skills.
As part of the qualification process, you can also take part in a training course developed by RINA and complementing the exam preparation process.
The certification is valid for a number of years, subject to an assessment, every 18 months, of the certified skills by submitting the relevant documents and participating in skills upgrade courses.
